Nothing can resist a small squid, as long as it is made in the right size, shape, or carries the right odor, specifically for the Mediterranean water and species. Many hours on the drawing board have been invested to get every detail right and even more hours in actual testing.

The Worthy Squid was based on a clever idea. Its middle tentacles finish in a Paddle type, meaning they have a small "heel" at the end, which gives them a distinct movement, as most Minnow-type silicones of this type have. Its side tentacles are essentially Curly tails, reinforced in the ends. In essence, elements from two types of silicone lures have been incorporated to create a unique motion.

The main body, with the side fins has been designed to give the lure a horizontal position and stability both during retrieve, or even when sinking during pauses. The head has been designed to be bulky, in order to adequately hide the tip of the hook and to secure the lure in place, an important factor, when calling upon small baits.

The Worthy silicone lure has been created in such a way, that makes it durable, but above all versatile. It has been taken into account, that the curse of fishing with silicone baits in the Mediterranean are the cuts from the bites of small baitfish, which make the lure ineffective. This however, has been taken into consideration in the making of the Worthy Squid, which provides a new perspective and opens up many options in our fishing strategy. If one of the tentacles is cut off, the lure can work beautifully with the rest, as each one individually produces its own strong motion. Another approach is to remove the damaged tentacle and be left with the other two. There are three ways to fish the Worthy based on which tentacles we have left, or which we choose to fish with:

Full Mode

If we decide to make full use of all the tentacles, this silicone lure unleashes all its grace, especially with fast retrieves. It's the best way to bring the 4 tentacles to life and bring out all its movement potential. With all 4 tentacles, we can essentially work from the lowest layers of the water column, up to the surface with intense darting, provided our approach is more aggressive. This approach is preferable in days with active fish, which feed in fast retrieves, in shallows, or even in midwaters with strong darting, during the warm months of the year. During tests, large White and Saddled Seabreams and Gilt Heads have responded well to this approach.

Paddle Tail Mode

By keeping only the middle tentacles, we essentially create a kind of Minnow lure with two tails, each with a paddle. The Paddle Tail mode can work both with steady retrieves, but also with many jerks, an approach which is a specialty for this silicone lure. The Worthy has a slim profile and the middle tentacles are playing freely, turning this lure into a delicious bite for Saddled Seabreams and Guelly Jacks, especially in midwaters and in areas with strong currents. The slightest movement brings the delicate tentacles to life in the most intense way.

Curly Tail Mode

This is the version of the lure that responds well to slow, steady retrieves and the version that has triggered the response of monster White Seabreams and even big SeaBass - trophies for the LRF technique. With the middle tentacles missing, Worthy Squid gives space to main body and demonstrates how well the Curly Tail sides have been designed and produce a motion that is literally mesmerizing. Even with a very slow retrieve, the swimming it produces is enticing and ideal for searching the water column, from the bottom to the surface. Rig the Worthy with a variety of jig heads, especially with Cheburaska and you'll understand what it's all about and why it's become a show stopper silicone lure in the LRF scene long before its release.

As an additive to the Worthy silicone bait, something equally innovative has been chosen: pure olive oil. The internationally known, virgin olive oil from Greece possesses excellent properties both as a natural preservative and – known for decades - as something that attracts fish. With the addition of natural squid odor smell to it, you have the whole package.
