The developmental concept for the "Spearhead Ryuki 70S and 80S" was to capture the middle to large size main-stream rivers targeting various species of trout by casting down-cross.

Ryuki is continuing to build a strong reputation and has become another iconic lure for DUO being recognized as lethal, no matter what type of fishing. At some point in time, DUO started focusing into promoting Ryuki for saltwater fishing, after receiving testimonials about its lethal effect in seawater species. So DUO developed the 70F and in 2016 they expanded the Spearhead Ryuki series even further. Besides 80S, DUO developed three additional Ryuki SW sizes, including a special weigh-tune(WT) model of Ryuki 95S. This SW model is heavier than the regular version by 2 grams resulting in additional castability as well as ability to reach deeper places.

The semi-long lip to grip the water and flat-side body with low center of gravity fixed weight settings have equipped the lure with a high level of swimming performance in the strong flow of the main stream. Its action initiation is prompt and can handle consecutive twitching through the rod work.

Some lures loose the casting comfortability through the increased body size of the lure, but by controlling the height of the body, we have managed to realize the top of the range castability.

Ryuki 80S has a casting ability which rivals those moving weight models, capturing the large trout species running up the stream. You will experience the real pleasure of controlling the lure in the current.

The longest size in the Ryuki series (11 cm), maintained the flat, yet heavy sinking minnow body, but preserved it’s appealing, sharp action. Its action initiation is fast and capable of staging consecutive twitching with short rod work. Even against currents, it preserves its high swimming performance, while its flight posture is stable, realizing great casting distance and accuracy.

In 2019, DUO introduced the 50S Abalone series. The limited series of five colors includes an inner abalone plate enhancing the flashing effect considerably and being proven to increase the effectivity of lure in the water.
